Before I dwell upon the topic of this post, I wish to say that I am not anti-(anything). Every body think what they do is right.

I was shell shocked to listen to some of the speeches made by so called "Maar thattum" tamizhans. I have no intention whatsoever to listen to any pro-LTTE speeches. But I thought this agitation was all about the ill-treatment rendered to the fellow Tamils in the land of Sinhalese. And hence I watched it.

Alarmingly, almost every one of them delivered a pro-LTTE speech. The LTTE proposal (a parallel proposal drafted by them) says they and SL will have one cabinet each, one prime minister each albeit under one president of SL. It is like an autonomous college operating under an university but not bound to any of the rules of the university. This is some thing that impacts the sovereignty of SL and how can another country interfere in this kind of an internal affair?

I am also puzzled when they claimed that LTTE is not a terrorist outfit. I mean if IM, LeT or any other outfit that bomb, conduct suicide attacks demanding Kashmir from India can be labelled as terrorist outfits then certainly LTTE falls under this bracket and to openly support it is, according to me, supporting terrorist activities in neighbouring island nation. The cries from them asking Indian government to interfere and ask military to enter in to ceasefire should be brushed aside as rubbish. As Smt.Jayalalitha rightly pointed out, LTTE would use this time to rebuild their arms wing and retaliate strongly.

Had only people talked about the suffering on Tamil people in the island nation, it would have been much better. Please... learn to differentiate LTTE and the innocent Tamils bearing the grunt of the military oppression. We need to talk for the innocents and not the outfit. The common people nursing their wounds, both physically and mentally, need our moral support and not the outfit.

I think these people must shut up and carry on with their own business unless they know what exactly they should be talking in these meetings. Do they really know what they are standing up for?

I stand for the rights of Tamils in SL 100% and at the same time I am 0% with these outfits because of their chosen modus operandi. For their cause might be noble but they resorted to inhuman practices. If these were to be achieved by means of peaceful dialogues, world would have been much better. I will use couple of Mahatma's quotes to close this. "Non-violence has its own share of difficulties. It tests the people abiding by it to the core. But it also promises success in the end"
"He who volunteers to serve a band of dacoits by working as their career or their watchman or their nurse when they are wounded is as much guilty of the dacoity as the dacoits themselves"
